Tasting notes

  1. Nose

Strawberry, mirabelle, and yellow apple — ripe stone-fruit and berry with a soft orchard edge, expressive rather than thin.

  2. Palate

Fuller-bodied from the first sip. Strawberry and mirabelle carry a rounded mid-palate; yellow apple softens the edges. Balanced acidity keeps the fruit from flat or candy-sweet. Fruit leads with a fine melt — more presence than the lighter house pinks.

  3. Finish

Fresh, lively, and moderately long — clears without sticky hang, leaving a short red-fruit and stone-fruit edge.

The wine

Body first. This Black Label pink has more mid-palate than the lighter house rosés — strawberry and mirabelle open, yellow apple softens the edges, and the sip feels rounded rather than thin. The fruit is expressive without reading as candy or artificial lift.

Balanced acidity holds the fuller frame. The melt is fine; residual sugar rounds without sticking. The blend gives a soft weight the Merlot pink does not chase. What remains is fresh and lively with moderate length — longer than a short patio flick, shorter than a serious mineral white. Eighty-four sits on that presence: more body, fruit that still smells like fruit, and a close that holds.

It will not give you taut Provençal dryness or deep tannin. It gives you rounded blush fruit with more mid-palate than the house Merlot pink — strawberry and mirabelle that hold, yellow apple that softens, a close that stays lively. Serve it well chilled in a white-wine glass; a few minutes open helps. Warm, the mirabelle fattens and the finish softens; cold keeps the strawberry bright. For fish, white meat, or a terrace pour that wants mid-palate, that fuller lively line is the point.

How to drink it

Well chilled (8–10 °C); a few minutes open helps.
