The wine
It smells like rosé, and it smells like a cool-climate one: red fruit, not candy, and not a handful of dried berries. The aroma is delicate. It does not need to be loud.
The palate is light and fresh. Red berry fruit sits over fine bubbles, and the wine is drier than a lot of pink fizz in this category. The bead is soft. Acidity is bright enough to keep the fruit in line. There is no sticky middle and no bitter pith. Body stays light, which suits the fruit. A heavier wine would bury the strawberry.
Clean and crisp, the red fruit trailing off rather than hanging on. Serve it well chilled, in a flute. As the flute loses its chill, the floral note opens and the fruit turns softer, still pleasant, less precise.
Drink it as a sparkling rosé that still tastes like red fruit and bubbles. Weight is not the story. Berry and bead are. Well chilled, the strawberry stays fresh and the floral note does not turn sweet. That is the glass to pour. The raspberry is delicate, and it does not need help. Fine bubbles, and fruit that stays fresh and precise.
