The wine

The close does not hang. That short exit is honest about the light frame: pale pink in the glass, fine bubbles, and a pinot-shaped fruit that does not pretend to be denser than it is.

Before that, the pour smells like strawberry and cherry with a delicate floral lift, the kind of Pinot Noir rosé character that stays varietal rather than candy. In the mouth the bead is soft and clean; the same strawberry-cherry fruit rides a light body, bright enough to feel sparkling without turning syrupy. It drinks coldest in a flute, where soft bead and short fruit read as sparkle rather than soft drink. Pale pink, finely bubbled, strawberry and cherry through the middle, then a crisp fruit-forward close that knows when to stop. A sparkling rosé that stays inside its weight and lets the pinot fruit do the talking without tipping into one-note pink soda. Serve it well chilled in a flute and let the brief fruit-forward close do the talking.
