Oddbird Low Intervention Organic White No. 2

How we scoreVerdict
Editorial VerdictThe most complete Oddbird still white in this tasting: floral citrus and tropical fruit with honey–cardamom lift, then a long dry-leaning, lightly spicy close. Complexity without the sugar trap.

Tasting notes
-
Nose
White flowers and citrus with guava, honey, and cardamom — floral tropical with a spice lift.
-
Palate
Pineapple and pear beside citrus and a mineral spice line. Dry-leaning; fruit stays bright rather than soft-sweet.
-
Finish
Long, dry-leaning, and lightly spicy — mineral spice after the tropical fruit.
The wine
Length is the surprise. After pineapple, pear, and citrus, the finish stays dry-leaning and lightly spicy — mineral spice instead of a sugary fade. That persistence is what separates this bottle from easier NA whites that smell interesting and then disappear.
The nose is busy in a good way: white flowers and citrus, guava, honey, cardamom. Floral tropical with a spice lift, not a single-note cooler. On the palate pineapple and pear ride a mineral spice line; acidity keeps the fruit bright. Mouthfeel is medium-light with tension. Honey on the nose does not become syrup on the sip.
Chill it, but leave a little temperature so the cardamom and spice show. Ice-cold mutes the mid-palate; warm and the tropical fruit softens. Likeness is very high for the category: complexity and a long close that still reads as wine. Full Alsace weight is not here. Floral citrus, tropical lift, and a long lightly spicy finish are — and that is the glass worth repeating.
How to drink it
Chilled, not ice-cold, in a white-wine glass.
