The wine
The red
Zéro Degré Rouge is Merlot, and the producer does not call it a wine. The page says a beverage based on dealcoholized wine, the grape 100% Merlot, the alcohol removed under vacuum at low temperature. The ingredient list then adds grape sugar, a natural flavor, and French oak extract, plus yeast mannoproteins, gum arabic, and preservatives. Those additions are why it sits with the blanc as a hybrid.
The producer’s own comment is fresh red fruit, a soft round middle, and a soft close with spice and toast. That is their comment, and it reads like the sugar and the oak talking. A Boulogne listing prints 0.0% alcohol, 75 cl, and 14 kcal with 3.5 g of sugar per 100 ml. The producer sheet does not print the percent. It does say to drink the bottle before the end of 2026. The estate is Vignobles Siozard at Lugaignac, and the shop starts at €8. The front label reads Claouset Zéro Degré, Sans alcool, Alcohol free, and Vignobles Siozard. It does not print Rouge or an alcohol percent. The glass is dark. The blanc in this line is a clear bottle with a different label. This is Zéro Degré Rouge, not that blanc. Vignobles Siozard calls it a boisson à base de vin désalcoolisé, 100% Merlot. The product page and the July 2024 sheet say the alcohol is removed under vacuum at low temperature. The sheet’s ingredients are dealcoholized Vin de France, grape sugar, natural flavor, French oak extract, yeast mannoproteins, gum arabic, and preservatives including sulfites, E242, and potassium sorbate. The sheet says to drink it before the end of 2026. It does not print an alcohol percent. La Cave Parallèle in Boulogne prints 0,0% alcohol, 75 cl, and, per 100 ml, 14 kcal and 3.5 g sugar.
