The wine

The relatively dry finish is Libby’s best argument for a second glass. This is a fruit-forward sparkling rosé, but the sweetness does not define the last impression. It finishes with fruit and a little dryness, giving the bright, easy-drinking style more of a wine-like shape than sparkling juice.

Strawberry and fresh cherry lead the aroma, with a candied-melon note alongside them. The palate is crisp and lively rather than an extension of that candied character alone. Light sweetness meets bright carbonation; the bubbles keep the glass refreshing while the red-fruit character gives it something recognizable beyond fizz. A subtle brioche note adds another accent without changing the essentially fruity direction.

That is also the limit. There is enough character here to make the rosé pleasant and convincing, not enough complexity to make it a particularly absorbing glass. The brioche remains subtle, and the straightforward fruit profile is still the point. Its appeal is less about picking apart layers than about how readily the sweetness, crispness and finish fit together. Libby is well made and very easy to drink: a solid sparkling rosé when refreshment matters more than depth.

Research notes

Photographed front label reads CALIFORNIA, LIBBY, NON-ALCOHOLIC WINE, SPARKLING ROSÉ, 0g SUGAR badge, CONTENTS LESS THAN 0.5% ALC/VOL, swing-top closure. Producer product page calls it Non-Alcoholic Sparkling Rosé, California-made, and prints dealcoholized wine in the ingredient list. The how-it’s-made section names a spinning cone process, then reintroduction of flavors and carbonation. The FAQ repeats spinning cone column and prints less than 0.5% on the label. Nutrition on the producer page: 35 calories, 4 g total sugars, 0 g added sugars per 5 fl oz serving, five servings per container. The front 0g SUGAR badge is kept as a label claim beside the producer sugar line — see discrepancies. Old Town Tequila lists the 750 ml bottle at $15.99 and 0.5% Alc/Vol. Producer tasting copy stays off this record.
