Dry Red
65/100
The short takeAn unconvincing nonalcoholic red. Recognizable dark plum is undermined by thin texture, upfront bitterness, and limited complexity. A little drying grip does not give the glass convincing structure.

The wine
Franzese Non-Alcoholic Dry Red has an integration problem. Dark plum provides recognizable fruit character, but the slight bitterness at the outset feels poorly connected to it. The result is unbalanced: the fruit and bitterness remain separate impressions rather than supporting each other. There is little depth or complexity to make the glass satisfying.
The wine is light-bodied, with a thin texture. Some drying sensation adds a little grip, but it does not provide convincing structure. Lightness alone is not the problem; the combination of thin texture, poorly integrated bitterness, and limited complexity leaves this red unconvincing. The plum is recognizable without making the overall impression rewarding.
The bottle is sealed with a traditional cork. Nose and finish were not assessed during this tasting. The judgment rests on the palate: an unsatisfying glass with fruit character, but insufficient balance and depth.

Research notes
Named dealcoholization equipment is unpublished; a generic vacuum line on that retailer FAQ is not copied here. Front label prints Vintage 2023. Back label date of bottling reads 01.10.2024, as printed. Back label: produced and bottled by Ginevan Wine Factory LLC; imported exclusively by Franzese Wine LLC, Roseville CA.

Where sources disagree
Sources disagree on the following points.
- ABV: Producer PDP does not print a residual. Retailer table prints <0.5 ABV, and the bottle label prints the same ceiling. Canonical field uses the retailer ceiling; producer silence is retained here.
- Base beverage: Producer PDP names 100% Areni Noir. The bottle back label lists a blend. Canonical base beverage keeps the producer statement, which is the only URL-backed source; the conflict is unresolved.

- Method
- Producer product data names dealcoholized wine but no machine. The reopened NonAlcoholicWines FAQ says most wines use vacuum distillation; it does not identify the equipment used for this Dry Red. That generic FAQ is not SKU-specific method evidence.
