The wine
Reverse Riesling is the flagship nonalcoholic white from Weingut Bergdolt-Reif & Nett, a fifth-generation family estate in Duttweiler in Germany’s Pfalz region that has farmed loess-loam and limestone-veined vineyards between Speyer and Neustadt an der Weinstraße since 1838. Winemaker Christian Nett launched the Reverse series in 2022 as the estate’s fresh, stainless-steel-matured tier, alongside the barrel-influenced Breakaway collection. Despite the series name, Reverse does not refer to reverse osmosis.
Instead, the estate vinifies a traditional Riesling in stainless steel and removes the alcohol shortly before bottling through low-temperature vacuum distillation paired with resin-based aroma recovery, capturing the volatile varietal fraction from the distillate and returning it to the dealcoholized wine. Depending on the bottling document consulted, producer analyses report either 0.40% ABV with 19.2 g/L residual sugar and 8.5 g/L total acidity (dated May 2026 bottling) or 0.20% ABV with 20.0–21.2 g/L residual sugar and 8.1 g/L acidity.
This record is an unscored research profile compiled from producer and importer documentation. No firsthand cellar tasting has been conducted by The Dry Standard, so aroma, acidity, sweetness balance, and finish remain unassessed until a bottle is poured.

Research notes
The producer describes taking finished alcoholic wine and removing ethanol by low-temperature vacuum distillation (LTVD). Its FAQ and dealcoholization page name resin-based aroma recovery (the patented FlavoLogic / SOLOS Aroma Recovery System, which uses solid-phase extraction via selective resin adsorption and desorption to return the wine's own volatile aromas after distillation); in correspondence on 2026-10-23, US importer Sebastian Huelck (President, Elite Wine Selections) specifically highlights Solos ARS on the upper-tier Breakaway series while noting LTVD across the range. Reverse is the series name; it does not establish reverse osmosis. The dated technical sheet for the 6 May 2026 bottling lists Riesling, stainless-steel maturation, 0.40% ABV, 19.2 g/L residual sugar, 8.5 g/L total acidity, 750 ml, Germany, and sulfites. The stored ABV and sugar refer to that bottling; other producer documents differ. The shop-linked electronic label declares 0.2% ABV and 8.1 g/L acidity, with 53 kJ / 13 kcal and 2.0 g sugars per 100 ml. It lists grapes, rectified concentrated grape must, sulfites, dimethyldicarbonate (DMDC), and citric acid. These electronic-label ingredients and nutrition are not established for the May 2026 bottling. Producer flavor descriptions, importer varietal-suitability notes, and external ratings are not Dry Standard tasting observations.

Where sources disagree
Sources disagree on the following points.
- ABV: The producer's dated sheet for the 6 May 2026 bottling and its linked alcohol-free product page state 0.40% ABV. The main winery product page, its separate technical sheet, the shop-linked electronic label, and US importer Elite Wine Selections state 0.20%. The producer shop description states 0.5% vol. The record uses the dated 0.40% claim for that bottling; the other claims are retained without assuming they describe identical stock or resolving the difference.
- Sugar: The dated May 2026 sheet and its linked product page state 19.2 g/L residual sugar and 8.5 g/L total acidity. The main winery page and separate sheet state 21.2 g/L residual sugar and 8.1 g/L total acidity. The shop-linked electronic label gives 2.0 g sugars per 100 ml and 8.1 g/L acidity. These are separate declarations; no common bottling or formulation is assumed.
- Origin: The producer FAQ says its alcohol-free wines use exclusively estate-grown wine. Both Riesling technical sheets allow wine or grapes from other growers. Exact vineyard sourcing remains unresolved; Germany is explicitly sourced.
