The wine

Alkoholfrei is the non-alcoholic sparkling Heinz Wagner Sekt makes in St. Blasien. The US screen-print calls it a composed cuvée of Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Muscat, and select varieties, gently freed from alcohol and refined with house-made macerates. The importer says that removal is vacuum distillation only, and confirms the wine is below 0.5% ABV. The screen-print itself does not print a percent. The shop still describes the color as a lively rosé and treats those macerates as the backbone of the fruit.

The package is a screen-print on the glass. There is no paper label. The fill is 750 milliliters, closed with a cork and a wire cage, and the glass reads Heinz Wagner, alkoholfrei, and An die Freude, with 777 under the line. The wrap lists 90% non-alcoholic wine, a macerate of wild berries and herbs, sugar, carbon dioxide, and malic acid. Added sugar on that panel is 3.6 grams per 100 milliliters, with 16 calories in the same measure. The shop price is €14 for the bottle, tax included and shipping extra. The English flyer puts the sugar at just over 3 grams per 100 milliliters and carries the house list of pomegranate, citrus, gooseberry, elderflower, and a hint of vanilla. That list is the producer’s, not a tasting.

The Dry Standard has not poured this bottle, and it has no score.

Research notes

The page says house-made macerates and extracts are the backbone of the freshness and fruit. It does not name a grape, a removal machine, or a percent of alcohol. The house description names pomegranate, citrus, gooseberry, elderflower, and a hint of vanilla, then cherry, vineyard peach, currant, and green apple. The organization record on that site gives the alternate name Heinz Wagner Sektmanufaktur and places the company in St. Blasien, Baden-Württemberg. Product keywords on the page include Schwarzwald and Sankt Blasien. The bottle photograph reads Heinz Wagner, alkoholfrei, and An die Freude, with 777 and M·Ü·M printed under that line. It says just over 3 g of sugar per 100 ml and carries the same aroma and flavor list. The US importer says Max Wagner makes this wine in partnership with winemaker Max Greiner, and that the extract comes from his vermouth work. On 3 November 2026 the importer confirmed the alcohol is below 0.5%, gave a last laboratory result of 0.03%, and said that result would allow a 0.0% claim. The grapes named in that note are Pinot Noir, Muskateller, and Pinot Gris. The US screen-print, a 360° print on the glass with no paper label, says a cuvée of Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Muscat, and select varieties, gently freed from alcohol and refined with house-made macerates, crafted at 777 meters. Muskateller is the German name for Muscat. The importer line on the wrap is Lisa Tupetz Wine LLC, Pismo Beach, California. The screen-print does not print a percent.
