The spirit

Dessert length is the tell: medium and soft, not gone — toffee and cocoa where burn used to live. That exit still has presence. It does not vanish the moment the sip leaves; the dessert line hangs, gentler than whisky with proof, but not empty. Oak shows in the length as much as grain does.

Before that, the nose opens on toffee and toasted oak, then cocoa and a whisper of caramelized sugar. The sip is round and oaked without ethanol heat: toffee, caramel, and a cocoa-dusted note that reads as rebuilt oak rather than raw grain sweetness. Medium body; mouthfeel stays dessert-like rather than thin tea. The toasted oak is the spine; toffee and cocoa are the flesh.

Neat in a whisky glass shows the toffee-oak-cocoa line cleanest. Over a large cube with a strip of orange peel, the oak and caramel widen and the cocoa stays on the back. What it offers is oaked sweetness without proof heat — a finish that still has length, even if the edge is softer. Start with that dessert finish, then work back to the nose: toasted oak first, cocoa second, caramelized sugar as a whisper. Toffee, oak, cocoa — dessert first, heat never.
