The short answer

Alcohol-free is a printed claim. In US guidance it is reserved for no detectable alcohol. England’s voluntary guidance sets 0.05% ABV for drinks alcohol was extracted from. Neither rule upgrades a bottle in this cellar to a stated 0.0%. The sourced ABV on the review is the fact.

  • Alcohol-free is not automatically 0.0%.
  • US and English guidance draw the line in different places.
  • A category search finds the ≤0.5% cellar; the ABV filter isolates a stated zero.

Alcohol-free is English label language. People type it when they want a drink without alcohol. This site still only reviews beverages at or below 0.5% ABV, and it does not treat the phrase as a measured residual.

Two official lines, not one number

US FDA CPG Sec. 510.400 reserves alcohol-free for products with no detectable alcohol. Non-alcoholic may appear on dealcoholized wine and malt beverages under 0.5% ABV. Those are different additional claims.

England’s voluntary Low alcohol descriptors guidance sets alcohol free at 0.05% ABV for drinks alcohol was extracted from, de-alcoholised up to 0.5%, and low alcohol up to 1.2%. Low alcohol sits outside this cellar.

Both sources were checked 21 October 2026. A front label that says alcohol-free is not upgraded here into 0.0%. How The Dry Standard checks a claim.

What a search does

Searching alcohol-free finds the English-language category. Each card still shows the sourced ABV and production type. If the constraint is a printed zero, filter for True 0.0% or read 0.0% vs under 0.5%.
