Verdict Giesen ferments a full-strength Marlborough and Waipara rosé, then removes the alcohol with spinning cone technology. Less than 0.5% ABV. Strawberry, white flowers and a light citrus lift on the nose; crisp, light and slightly dry on the palate, with a little sweetness balanced by refreshing ac… A still dealcoholized rosé: summer berries and fresh apricot, soft and balanced, without a bead.

Likeness It reads as rosé rather than pink soda: stone fruit and cranberry, off-dry, on a light frame. The short middle is the limit. Convincingly rosé-like, with delicate berry fruit, fresh acidity and a mineral edge. Gentle sweetness fits comfortably within its light, balanced structure. A soft still rosé, Provence-shaped: berries and apricot hold, and the Pinotage is color rather than tannin. The missing snap is the limit.
